FIFA 23 Without Russian National Team and Clubs; EA's Arguments Revealed
FIFA 23 will lackthe Russian national soccer team. The same also applies to clubs originating from that country. All as part of EA's solidarity with Ukraine.
In light of Russia's aggressive moves, more representatives of various circles are voicing their protest and calling for peace. Electronic Arts has joined the ranks of those opposing the war in Ukraine before, if only by the removal of content associated with the said country from, among others, FIFA 22 and NHL 22. As reported by editors of Eurogamer, FIFA 23 will be lack similar elements. The latest installment of the series will not feature Russia.
"EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine. In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in FIFA 23," reads the statement to Eurogamer.
A similar statement accompanied the decision to remove Russian content also for other game of the big publisher. In March, along with other industry representatives, EA decided to withdraw its products from Russia.
Yesterday FIFA 23 lived to see the official announcement. We saw the first trailer and at the same time the devs revealed the system requirements - the PC version will not be truncated this time compared to its console counterparts. The game is scheduled to debut on September 30 this year on PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
