Stray Hides Easter Eggs for Skyrim Fans

When dealing with cat businesses in Stray, we can find several references to other games - including two from Skyrim. Beware of spoilers!

How not to believe that cats rule the world when the inconspicuous game Stray scores record opening? As if that wasn't enough, this small production hides references to other games - including at least two to the already iconic The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Both were found by Reddit user meatomato.

The rest of the news contains minor spoilers from Stray. So if you want to explore it on your own, I advise you to finish reading here.

My treasures

The first of these easter eggs can be encountered by talking to a robot named Jenkins. It utters the words: "Some may call this junk. Me, I call them treasures". This is an obvious reference to the words of merchant Belethor from Skyrim, who runs a multi-branch store in Whiterun and claims that if he had a sister, he would sell her in a second.

In order for Jenkins to utter this sentence, you need to go to Antvillage and then use the bucket to get to the garden where he works with another robot, Moka.

Screwdriver in the knee

The second easter egg refers to a much more iconic quote from Skyrim. Namely the sentence: "I used to be a adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee." In Stray it is alluded to by the robot Sojiro, who can be found sitting at a window in one of the Downtown locations.

When the feline protagonist talks to him, he says: "I used to own a bar. It was the cosiest place. Until I took a screwdriver in the knee, and it's closed now".

Gordon Freeman was here?

There may be many more similar references in Stray. YouTube user xGarbett, for example, is convinced that on a certain train he found Gordon Freeman's crowbar from Half-Life (see video below). True, the item looks similar, but an accidental resemblance cannot be ruled out.

It seems just as likely that players still haven't found all the easter eggs placed in Stray by Blue Twelve Studio - after all, the game came out just two days ago on PC, PS4 and PS5 (it's also available on PS Plus Extra and Premium services - you can find more information here).
