The sheer fact that the next Far Cry is happening may not be a surprise for fans, however, the game’s setting is surely one. According to multiple sources, Far Cry Primal is going to be set in the prehistoric period. For one, a concept art from the game was published on IGN Turkey’s Twitter (as seen below, also posted on NeoGAF) – too soon, apparently, as the entry was since removed. Earlier, Ubisoft put up a livestream of a cave painting on their official website. Besides, Kotaku reports its sources close to Ubisoft speak of a game called Far Cry Primal set in the Ice Age. That pretty much wraps it up.

IGN Turkey spilled the beans about Far Cry Primal.

Taking an open world first-person shooter series into prehistoric times surely is an innovative idea. Switching guns for clubs and stones may be a shock for many. It is still unclear whether this game is going to be a full-fledged sequel or more of a spin-off, like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. More info will be revealed on the official announcement.
