TIE Fighter: Total Conversion is one of the most impressive Star Wars mods. It uses the engine of Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance to recreate the classic TIE Fighter from 1994. This great project has just received a major update.

  1. TIE Fighter: Total Conversion - download the mod from our FTP server (the creators have given us permission to host a mirror).

The new version is numbered 1.3.3. First of all, the mod got ray tracing support, thanks to the switch to the latest version of XWAU (the project that is the foundation of TIE Fighter: Total Conversion). The creators have also added high quality animated screens of ship interiors shown between missions. A number of new units have also been added to the modification, including the Predator Star Destroyer and the Valiant Cruiser. The performance of VR mode was also heavily improved.

In addition, a bug in ctonrols has finally been fixed, which caused difficulty in controlling the ship's movement when flying directly up or down. This shortcoming was present in all installments of the series, starting with 1993's Star Wars: X-Wing. So we had to wait three decades for someone to finally solve this problem.

Recall that TIE Fighter: Total Conversion is an unofficial remake, which recreates campaigns from the basic version of TIE Fighter and the Defender of the Empire and Enemies of the Empire DLC on the engine of X-Wing Alliance. Added to this are alternative versions of the original missions, with a larger scale of skirmishes and additional objectives, as well as dozens of new tasks made by modders.

The modification was built on the foundations of XWUproject, which thoroughly refreshes X-Wing Alliance and upgrades its engine. Thanks to this TIE Fighter: Total Conversion presents a much higher level of quality than XWA.
