Fallout 76 Update 9 Introduces Backpacks, Scouts and New Challenges
In May, Fallout 76 will receive a new update, which will introduce, among others, a new faction (Pioneer Scouts) with additional challenges and the ability to use backpacks.
- New faction - Pioneer Scouts,
- Challenges and scout badges,
- New adventure Terrors of the Dark,
- Backpacks.
Bethesda has revealed the content of the upcoming Update 9 for Fallout 76. The patch will be released on May 7 and will offer another set of novelties that are part of the so-called Wild Appalachia, a series of patches introducing additional content and options.
The update will be entitled ever upwards. It will introduce a new faction of Pioneer Scouts to the game. Because of the war, they have problems recruiting young people, so the statute of the organisation has been changed so that it is possible to accept new members at any age.
The rookies, known as tadpoles, will have to overcome a series of challenges confirming their suitability as scouts. Successes are to be rewarded with badges that prove the achievement of a master level in such activities as swimming, archery or cooking. Players will also take part in the Terrors of the Dark adventure, modelled on the Scout stories told by the campfire.
Eventually, when we reach the rank of possum, we will have access to additional, much more difficult challenges and badges, as well as the possibility to use backpacks. We will use them to carry heavier loads and additional equipment. Players will be able to modify their appearance and functions to a large extent, e.g. by installing an armour or refrigeration unit, which slows down the rate of food spoilage.
Let's remind that Fallout 76 was released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 14 last year. The game has met with cold reception - the PC edition now has an average rating of 52% on Metacritic.
