New Fallout 76 Update Introduces Customizable Worlds and More

The latest free update for Fallout 76, available today, introduces public and private worlds where we will be able to set the rules of the game. In addition, the Fallout Worlds patch expands content and extends Season 5 by two weeks.

The update announced by Bethesda Softworks has launched today. It includes new gameplay modes for Fallout 76 in the form of public and private worlds.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Fallout Worlds introduces new modes to Fallout 76, which differ from the standard experience with customizable gameplay rules. The players who pay for a Fallout 1st subscription will be able to create worlds with their own rules;
  • Nuclear Winter mode was removed from the game as a result of today's patch. Season 5, on the other hand, has been extended by two weeks;
  • Depending on the chosen platform, the update weighs between 15.3 GB and 23.3 GB.

The former are dev-designed rule sets put into the game that all players will have access to. The public worlds will rotate periodically, and the first is the Happy Builder mode, which reduces C.A.M.P. restrictions, reveals all locations on the map, and disables PvP. Future public worlds will target other gameplay elements - for example, High Risk will ban fast travel and increase rewards for defeating other players.

The Fallout 1st subscribers, as part of Fallout Worlds, will be able to create their own private worlds and set their own rules. In addition, Bethesda boasts of an interesting solution for the smooth progression of our characters. If we want to use modes that offer different experiences, the game will create copies of our characters, with the help of which we can join new worlds. In Fallout Worlds we will be able to have up to five such "clones".

The update also expands the content of Daily Operations. This means more rewards, opponents, and increased difficulty level of some tasks. In addition, Fallout 76 will feature new locations, including Vault 51, which has now been opened.

Following the release of Fallout Worlds, Bethesda removes the Nuclear Winter mode. Users who have played matches in the mode will receive badges and rewards of varying amounts based on their progress.

For players who failed to complete all the challenges of season 5, Bethesda Softworks has added two weeks to earn rewards. The decision to extend the current season was made as a result of reported technical issues occurring with some users, which prevented them from properly acquiring the items offered as part of the season pass.

Fallout Worlds update is available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Depending on the platform, it takes a varying amount of disk space:

  • Bethesda.net: 15.3 GB
  • Microsoft Store: 23.3 GB
  • Steam: 16.1 GB
  • PlayStation: 22.8 GB
  • Xbox: 23.3 GB
