Fallout 4 is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Unfortuantely, console versions are troubled with some performance issues that may hinder overall experience.

Hype around Fallout 4 is immense right now, but that’s OK, Bethesda Softworks did earn it. As expected, first reviews are very positive, and fans may need a sick note from a doctor for the rest of the week to stay home and play (Signed by Dr Pete Hines). However, several soruces report stability issues with Fallout 4 on consoles. Digital Foundry analysis revealed noticeable framedrops on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to 20 FPS, especially in bigger cities. Besides, XONE version suffers from stuttering – these and other problems are further dicussed by Eurogamer.

As for PC edition, Nvidia released a new driver (WHQL 358.91) to increase performance in Fallout 4, Star Wars: Battlefront, and StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. The “green” also posted a recommended GPU guide for PCs with GeForce cards on board. In general, according to Eurgamer’s test Fallout 4 works fine on a budget PC (Core i3 4130, GTX 750 Ti and 8GB DDR3). We guess console players will have to suffer a bit until they get a patch that would smooth out their experience.
