Fable at Least Partially Playable; Fairytale RPG Show Possibly in June
Development of the Fable reboot has reportedly reached a stage where that title is playable. It is possible that it will be presented at June's Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2023.
All we know about the reboot of the Fable series is that it is being made. It's been 2 and a half year from the reveal, but its release still seems very far away. Admittedly, the words of Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, seemed to suggest that the title will be released in 2024 at the latest, but this date should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Nevertheless, it is not entirely improbable. What's more, the description of the LinkedIn profile of the game's director, Vijay Gill, may reveal that Fable has reached a state that makes it playable. Indeed, among his other functions, Gill listed "organizing regular gameplay and creating reviews of future versions of the game with key stakeholders."
Of course, this does not necessarily mean that Fable can already be played from start to finish, as the mentioned gameplay may be limited to specific stages. However, this information enables us to become somewhat optimistic about the work progress. The community has begun to speculate that the reboot of Fable may be presented at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2023, which is scheduled to take place in June.
As a reminder, let me add that the title is being developed by studio Playground Games, known mainly for the Forza Horizon series. Also in this project, the developer uses the ForzaTech engine (at one point there were rumors of switching to Unreal Engine, but job advertisements published later suggested otherwise). The game is expected to be released on PC and XSX/S.
