EU4 Got an Expansion Focused on Middle East; DLC Gets Good Ratings
The King of Kings expansion came to Europa Universalis 4, revamping and introducing a lot of new content dedicated to historical powers from the Middle East. The expansion was to the liking of most players.
Popular strategy game Europa Universalis 4 was enriched yesterday with the King of Kings expansion, which adds to the game "immersive" historical content related to countries located in the Middle East.
The expansion introduced 300 new missions, 150 events, 32 new units, three "centers of humanity," namely Cairo, Constantinople and Isfahan, and many alternate histories.
At the center of the immersive King of Kings we find: Byzantine Empire, Mamluk Sultanate and Persia. Each of these historical powers received a series of national missions and reforms, as well as a lot of unique content. For example, the proud Persians now have access to a special set of quests depending on the state religion in force.
As part of the DLC, some kingdoms also received minor changes, including Armenia, Georgia, Arabia, Yemen, Ardabil, and Aq Qoyunlu and Qara Qoyunlu.
Details on the Kings of Kings DLC can be found here.
It is worth mentioning that on the occasion of the debut of the expansion the basic Europa Universalis 4 received update 1.36, which, among other things, introduced new achievements, monuments from the Leviathan DLC, 25 events for Persia or Georgian culture.
In addition, patch 1.36 brought considerable changes in game balance, removed bugs and errors, as well as added minor improvements for modders. For the entire description of the patch I refer you to this address.
Positive reception from the community
King of Kings has performed quite well according to most players. Admittedly, we will not find too many reviews on the web, but those already issued indicate that Paradox has done a solid job.
"To begin with - one of the better expansions for EU4, we get quite a lot of content in the immersion pack. The DLC focuses on rather neglected regions: Persia - where we can recreate Zoroastrianism and restore ancient Persia; Egypt and Arabia - new missions for the Mamluks and Arabia; Caucasus - a difficult region, surrounded on all sides by superpowers; BYSANTIUM - this region alone makes it worth buying the DLC, a true reflection of the state of a declining empire."
The latest expansion for EU4 has a 73% positive rating on Steam out of 67 reviews given, which is categorized as a "mostly positive" reception.
