Euro Truck Simulator 2 Devs Present Refreshed Vienna
The team from SCS studio has shared some details about the refreshed Vienna to be featured in Euro Truck Simulator 2. Virtual drivers will be able to visit the more industrialized parts of this city as well as historical landmarks.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is being expanded not only with new map sections. For some time now, the Czech studio SCS Software has been beautifying the locations that have been present in this extremely popular truck driver simulator from the very beginning. They are currently working on Austria. Recently the creators showed off how Vienna, the capital city of the said country, will change in this title.
Old and slightly newer places
As befits a cultural center with great traditions and a large European capital hat has been expanded for centuries, Vienna is a city abundant in landmarks. The most recognizable of these can be seen in Euro Truck Simulator 2. The creators boast of having recreated, among other spots, Schönbrunn Palace.
The refreshed Vienna in Euro Truck Simulator 2 will also feature some more contemporary landmarks. These include the Uniqa tower or the headquarters of the Bundesministerium für Klimaschutz, Umwelt, Energie, Mobilität, Innovation und Technologie.
In addition, players will get a chance to drive around the Danube Canal. As the creators themselves admit, preparing it was quite a challenge.
However, if someone prefers doing business to looking at buildings, then the Revised Vienna in ETS2 will also offer a new industrial area. It will feature several factories, including an oil refinery, warehouses and a supermarket.
Refreshed by Experience
As we can read in the announcement, all of the elements of the revamped Vienna would not have been possible without the vast experience that the members of SCS have acquired since 2012. New tools, technologies and models prepared over the years also helped.
As for now, it is not known when exactly the new version of Vienna will appear in Euro Truck Simulator 2. As a reminder, SCS Software is also preparing another large DLC for the game, which will take virtual drivers to western Russia. Heart of Russia, as this is the name of the DLC, will be released this year.
