Elite: Dangerous Odyssey Alpha Release Date
Frontier Developments announced that the alpha version of Odyssey, the sizable upcoming expansion for the space simulator Elite: Dangerous, will be released on March 29, this year. We also received its new trailer.
Are you waiting for the Odyssey expansion for the space simulator Elite: Dangerous? If so, you can slowly prepare your suits. Frontier Developments reported that the add-on, which will enable us to, e.g. explore on foot and fight on the surfaces of planets, will launch in alpha version on March 29. As previously announced, access to it will be granted to those who purchase Elite: Dangerous - Odyssey in the Deluxe Alpha edition or have the Lifetime Expansion Pass on PC.
On the occasion of this announcement, a gameplay video from Odyssey was released, where we can see one of the missions that are part of the expansion. The video is available below. However, take into account the fact that the footage comes from the pre-alpha version, so a lot of things may still change.
The developers have also organized a small chat about the Odyssey expansion. We can learn from it, for example, about the types of planets that will appear in the expansion. The whole video is available below.
The full version of the Odyssey expansion for Elite: Dangerous is to be released in late spring this year. However, this applies only to the PC version. According to current schedule, it will only come out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in the fall.
