Elex 2 Should Finally Run at 60 fps on Consoles
Elex 2 has received patch 1.05 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. In addition to a number of fixes, the update introduces a performance mode that enables us to play at 1080p resolution and - implicitly - 60 frames per second.
Games by Piranha Bytes have this in common that they work better on PC than on consoles. This was already the case with the first Risen on Xbox 360 and the same is true now for Elex 2 on PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX/S. Gamers complained, for example, on Redditthat the title has not just trouble with holding stable 60 frames per second, as seems to struggle running at 30 fps - and that's on PlayStation 5.
The developer and the game's publisher - the company THQ Nordic - decided to do something about it. The fruit of their efforts is yesterday's patch 1.05, which enables us to run the game in performance mode on PS4 Pro, XOne X, PS5 and XSX/S. Elex 2 is supposed to run in it at 1080p resolution and - by implication, since this was not written in the official announcement - 60 frames per second. Owners of "ordinary" PS4 and XOne will apparently be forced to play Elex 2 at 30 fps.
In addition, the patch fixes many bugs related to tasks, textures, flying with a jet pack or text display. In other words, it introduces the same changes that came to the PC version on April 28, 2022.
