28 Minutes of Gameplay From Elex 2 Beta
Nearly half an hour long video appeared on ACG's YouTube channel, showing Elex 2 beta in action. The title is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
Elex 2 is becoming an increasingly hot topic. Although the release date for the sequel to the 2017 action RPG from Piranha Bytes has not yet been officially announced, we are getting more and more information about it. Recently, the ACG (short for AngryCentaurGaming) channel on YouTube featured 28-minute video, in which the host presents the beta version of the upcoming game from the devs of Gothic and Risen in action and shares his impressions. You can watch the whole video below.
As is widely known, Elex 2 is an AA game made by a relatively small studio. And as the host of ACG channel notes, you can feel it in the beta. On the one hand, you can also see the ambitions of the developers who tried to make the world of the first installment, which we'll explore also in the second, more interesting. They did what they could to progress in terms of the animations of monsters and NPCs (it's worth noting the lip sync), cut-scenes, combat or individual mechanics, the main highlight of which is the jet pack and related system of air combat, revealed by the creators some time ago. And all this - as we can hear on the above video - was executed quite well and maintaining the style characteristic of the studio's games.
On the other hand, it is not difficult to notice some flaws. For example, the transitions between the game and cutscenes are not very smooth. In addition, some visual elements are less than stellar. Of course, at this stage a lot of shortcomings can be blamed on the fact that we are dealing with the beta version and many things will be improved (beginning with bugs appearing here and there). But will they all? We'll find out after some time.
Elex 2 is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
