Fans of playing RPGs on Steam will be very pleased with the news shared by BioWare studio today. The upcoming fourth installment of the Dragon Age series subtitled The Veilguard, is expected to be fully compatible with the features offered by Valve's platform.

This means that the game won't need an external application, EA App, to be installed for it to run. Although Electronic Arts' games used to be launched directly from Steam (if purchased there), recently the vast majority of the company's titles (including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, EA Sports FC 24, and Need for Speed Unbound) required the use of the EA App and creating a separate account there. Linking the Steam profile with this EA in The Veilguard will only be optional.

Furthermore, the new Dragon Age is expected to be fully compatible with the Steam Deck on the day of its release, confirming its "verified" status for this device. Therefore, all interface elements will be clear and legible, with appropriately adjusted icons, and the game should work perfectly, optimized for this purpose. Most likely, The Veilguard will also offer dozens of achievements, which will be compatible with the Steam system. Those earned will be displayed in the player's profile on the Valve platform, just like in the case of Inquisition released in 2014.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released this fall on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. We don't know the exact release date of the game yet, but BioWare announced that details about the debut will be revealed in the summer.
