Electronic Arts and FIFPro Extend Cooperation; Popular Players Will Remain in FIFA
Today, Electronic Arts and FIFPro, the worldwide representative of professional footballers, announced the extension of their cooperation. As a result, the game will still be able to use the real names of football stars, among other things.
FIFA fans can rest assured that top players and clubs will be featured in the next installment of the series, as Street Insider reports, today Electronic Arts has renewed its agreement with FIFPro to retain the license to use FIFA's iconic players and clubs for the next generation of the franchise.. FIFPro is an organization that represents the players' unions and has been recognized by FIFA as a full participant in the development of football.
“We are extremely pleased to extend the long-term relationship with EA SPORTS, a true partner that’s committed to create the best interactive experience for football fans worldwide,” said Theo van Seggelen, Statutory Director of FIFPRO Holding.
It's worth mentioning that it's one of the many organizations EA had to contract with in order to accurately portray the realities of football. However, it's thanks to the license granted by FIFPro that FIFA fans can play matches in which football's biggest stars meet in virtual stadiums. In addition to the players, EA has not forgotten about the world's leagues such as UEFA Champions League, Premier League, Bundesliga, and LaLiga Santander, which will also invariably appear in the future installments of the series. This is how FIFPro's Executive Vice President, David Jackson, commented on the extension of the partnership between FIFPro and EA:
“Our players regularly remind us that one of the most important aspects of an EA SPORTS experience is the deep immersion created through authentic use of the world’s greatest leagues, teams, and talent. It's how we continue to uniquely blur the lines between the digital and physical worlds of football. (...) FIFPRO will continue to be an important partner as we build the next generation of EA SPORTS football experiences for players around the world.”.
