FIFA 22 is the World's Most Popular Sports Game - EA Sports Shows Numbers
The creators of FIFA 22 boasted some statistics of their latest work. Not even a month has passed since the game's launch and its users have managed to play more than 2.1 billion matches.
FIFA 22 has been hugely popular since the release in early October - Electronic Arts even claims it's more popular than any other sports game. To prove it, EA Sports released data on the title's users.
To date, football enthusiasts from over 200 countries have played more than 2.1 billion matches, taking part in 89 million daily clashes on the pitch and scoring 5 billion goals. The most popular club is Paris Saint-Germain F.C., probably because of players like Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and Leo Messi.

David Jackson (VP Brand of EA Sports FIFA) commented on the success of the game this way:
"The growth of our global football platform continues at an unprecedented pace, and our fantastic community is engaging at an unparalleled level. We’re excited to continue that momentum by providing the most immersive football gaming experiences available to fans anywhere in the world. Alongside hundreds of licensing partners, including the Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga Santander, UEFA, and CONMEBOL, we’re privileged to create the world’s most authentic interactive football platform, enabling over 150 million fans across the globe to connect with their favorite leagues, clubs and players.”
