EA Announced Marvel Game From Co-creators of Shadow of Mordor
Ahead is another game from Electronic Arts, which will be an adaptation of the adventures of a Marvel comic book hero. This time it's Black Panther.
Fans of Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe can look with interest at the next announcements of games set in their favorite universe. It has been known for some time that a game adaptation of Iron Man's adventure is in the pipeline.
Now, last year's rumors regarding another game that will tell the story of a Marvel superhero, have been confirmed. It was announced, that a game about Black Panther, marking the 57th birthday of the first comic book appearance of the character, will be made.
Wakanda Forever!
A game about the Wakandan hero is another of Electronic Arts' games licensed by Marvel. Its creation is to be the responsibility of newly formed studio Cliffhanger Games, headed by Kevin Stephens (formerly of Monolith Productions). The team has considerable experience: the portfolio of its members includes such titles as Shadow of Mordor, Halo Infinite, God of War or some installments of Call of Duty.
For now, not much is known yet about the game itself, we don't even know its title yet. In last year's rumors it was called Project Rainer and there was talk of it being a third-person open world game.
It can now be confirmed with certainty that the game adaptation of Black Panther's adventures will be a single player TPP experience; between the lines one can read that most likely the rumors of an open world will also be confirmed - as Kevin Stephens himself says:
"The development team at Cliffhanger Games will work with Marvel Games to ensure that we create every aspect of Wakanda, its technology and heroes, and our own original story, with the attention to detail and authenticity that the world of Black Panther deserves."
Currently, this is all the confirmed information that has emerged about the Black Panther game from EA.
