EA Access Subscription Officially Coming to PlayStation 4
For years now, PC and Xbox players have been able to check EA Access and Origin Access subscriptions. In a few weeks, the former will also be available for PlayStation 4 users.
From 2014, Xbox One owners can benefit from EA Access, a subscription that gives them unlimited access to selected games from the Electronic Arts publishing offer, as well as other benefits described below. Almost two years later, its counterpart, Origin Access, made its debut on PC. According to reports from February this year, the Redwood City giant has announced that its subscription will also be available on PlayStation 4 in July. The players will be able to purchase a monthly subscription valued at $4.99 or pay $29.99 for the entire year.
- EA Access will be available on PlayStation 4 in July;
- Players will pay $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year ;
- In addition to access to selected Electronic Arts games, subscribers will receive a discount on the purchase of full games and access to trial versions of most of the new items from the company's portfolio.
In EA Access you can find a wide range of games from the Electronic Arts portfolio. We are talking not only about big titles like Star Wars: Battlefront II, Need for Speed: Payback, Battlefield 1 or Dragon Age: Inquisition, but also about positions of a slightly smaller caliber, led by Unravel Two and Fe. The company regularly adds more games to the list (for example, Burnout Paradise Remastered was added to the list in October). In addition, subscribers receive a 10% discount on full versions of games and DLC, as well as a ten-hour trial of most of the new games from Electronic Arts.
Interestingly, in July 2014 Sony criticized the subscription, claiming it was not good enough for PlayStation 4 owners. At the time, the Japanese giant preferred to focus on developing its own subscription (PlayStation Plus) but has now apparently changed its mind about it. Another thing is that this would be another step towards abandoning the company's "isolationism" policy - relatively recently, in September 2018, it allowed cross-platform feature in Fortnite.
