Dying Light 2 With Excellent Debut on Steam
Techland can be pleased with the debut of Dying Light 2 on Steam. In the first day, the game broke the activity record of the prequel five times. The game is also collecting increasingly better user ratings.
Yesterday we've seen the release of Dying Light 2, the latest game from Techland. Looking at Steam, the project's debut was a huge success.
Dying Light 2 with impressive activity scores on Steam
At the hottest moment of the launch day Dying Light 2 was played on Steam by 245,553 thousand people at the same time. This is a very impressive result - it is five times higher than the activity record of the first part.
The all-time leader in the single player category remains of course Cyberpunk 2077 with the result of more than a million players at the same time, but this was a one-time phenomenon and no single-player game in the near future has a chance to come close to this number.
Importantly, Dying Light 2 will almost certainly break the launch day record today or tomorrow, as single player games usually do best on the first weekend after release.
Increasingly better player ratings on Steam
With the influx of new players, the game's reception is also improving. Currently, 79% of user ratings on Steam are positive. Yesterday, a few hours after the launch, it was 76%.
Visual comparison between old and new generation consoles
Finally, it's worth mentioning an interesting video from Digital Foundry. It offers a visual comparison between different console versions of Dying Light 2. It enables us to see how the game looks on last-gen consoles, that is, Xbox One, Xbox One X, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, as well as offers a comparison of these editions with the PlayStation 5 edition.
Owners of older hardware will be pleased to know that Dying Light 2 performs very well on their consoles. The game has noticeably weaker graphics, but it still looks attractive and maintains satisfactory performance in most situations.
