Dragon Age 4 to Offer Most Interesting Characters Yet

We still have to wait for Dragon Age IV, but BioWare wants to make up for it with characters more interesting than in any previous installment of the series.

BioWare published the first entry in a series of so-called community updates. In this way, the developer wants to deliver on its long-held promise of greater "transparency," i.e. more efficiently informing fans about the progress of work on future projects. Including the new installment of the Dragon Age series, which was briefly mentioned on BioWare's official website.

Like the earlier BioWare blog post, the first Community Update introduces two developers. This time they are John Epler (serving as the game's creative director for the past year) and Maciej Kurowski (technical director of Dragon Age). Both have spent the last several years at BioWare, and have been involved in Dragon Age IV since early stages of production.

The bulk of the entry deals with behind-the-scenes (i.e. the responsibilities of both creators and the challenges they face) and BioWare's fan-created works. However, Kurowski mentioned in passing that with Dragon Age IV the developers are trying to create characters that have "more personality than ever before."

For now, he couldn't reveal anything more, though he assures that the studio will gradually reveal further information. The same goes for BioWare's other projects: the new Mass Effect and the further development of Star Wars: The Old Republic after the release of Legacy of the Sith expansion.

At this point Dragon Age IV remains a big myster, despite the fact that it's been over 3 years since the project's official reveal. Yes, BioWare reminds us about the game from time to time, but so far this hasn't translated into anything more solid than "work on the game is progressing" or single concept arts. And, of course, numerous rumors and fan speculations.
