There's a lot going on around The Mandalorian and the Star Wars universe in general. The third season of the show, a spin-off with Boba Fett, and the involvement of a new actress are only a part of the latest news.

As early as April, we announced that Disney started pre-production work on the third season of The Mandalorian. Showrunner Jon Favreau was hoping to be on set by the end of 2020. The filmmakers are not afraid of social distancing restrictions, as the extensive technology available to the American company will allow for the shooting of some scenes at a distance in closed room with the use of appropriate special effects. Deadline reports that the beginning of work on the set is a matter of the next few weeks and is expected to last until spring 2021.
According to onlinereports, the third season of The Mandalorian is not all that Disney has in store for us. There is a good chance that even before the former Lucasfilm may launch a completely new project with Boba Fett in the lead role. We are probably talking about a miniseries, which is supposed to expand the Star Wars universe.
From the next quite interesting information it is worth mentioning the working title of the third season of Mandalorian, as it is already known. Buccaneer will surely give quite a headache to the fans, providing them with some clues, which the creators intend to follow. Star Wars Wiki explains that it's a rank given to pirates.
We'll throw one more interesting thing into this kettle of news, but this time we're talking about a casting rumor. However, we don't know whether it concerns The Mandalorian or its spin-off. Anyway, the next actress to join the universe is to be Sophie Thatcher. She hasn't conquered Hollywood yet, to put it mildly, but she had her part in When the Street Lights Go On and Chicago Med.
And while there are too few certainties in all this, and Disney doesn't make the situation any easier by blocking the flow of any leaks, the future of Star Wars is likely to develop even further on TV and streaming fields. Meanwhile, the tenth episode of The Mandalorian , titled The Confrontation, will debut today.
