Dishonored 3 Could be Announced at The Game Awards 2023
Dishonored 3 may be announced. According to rumors, this is expected to happen at this year's The Game Awards.
Dishonored has won the hearts of many stealth game lovers. The excellent first part received several DLCs, the sequel continued the story of Corvo and Emily, and the informal third installment, Death of the Outsider, came out on September 15, 2017. Since then, Arkane has released, among other things, Deathloop and Redfall, which is one of the the worst rated games of recent years. According to rumors, although credible, the developer will announce a new game soon. It could be Dishonored 3, which would undoubtedly help restore player trust.
Dishonored 3 may be announced at The Game Awards
Gaming news providing user NateTheHate announced on Reddit, that to his knowledge Arkane will announce a new game at The Game Awards 2023. It will be held as early as tomorrow, i.e. December 7, so we will not wait long to verify this information. This rumor was repeated in his podcast, where he admitted that many fans would certainly be happy to see the announcement of Dishonored 3.
On X, the case was shortly commented by Brad Sams, general manager of games and software company Stardock Software. He posted an emote depicting a swordsman, suggesting quite unambiguously that he also thinks it's about the new Dishonored game.
As recently as mid-2022, Arkane representatives informed, that they were fed up with linear games, but the unpleasant experience with the open world in Redfall may have prompted the company to return to the tried-and-true stealthy approach in games. This July there were rumors that the studio was looking for a specialist who could join the team working on a a game focused on single-player experience. As if that wasn't enough, in September we saw a leak of documents outlining Bethesda's release plans for the coming years - among the titles listed there was Dishonored 3.
It is worth mentioning that Bethesda, which manages Arkane, was not convinced to the idea of developing another installment of Dishonored and that's why Arkane at one time created Deathloop. If the rumors are confirmed and Dishonored 3 will indeed be announced at TGA, it could be one of the most important news of the event.
