Disgaea 2 to hit PC in January 2017
Japanese development team Nippon Ichi Software apparently feel good about supporting PC. With Disgaea and Phantom Brave already available on this platform they are planning to release Disgaea 2 on Steam early next year.
Having ported Disgaea and Phantom Brave to PC, Nippon Ichi Software announced that another of their titles will be available on that platform – Disgaea 2 is going to get a Steam version on January 30, 2016. At its core, Disgaea 2 is a jRPG with turn-based combat set in a fantasy world that has been cursed by Overlord Zenon. You play as Adell, a young man fortunately unaffected by the disease. Together with a team of colorful characters he sets off on a crazy journey to save the realm.
This new release, dubbed the definitive edition, includes all content from Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories that originally hit PlayStation 2 in 2006 and its 2009’s PlayStation Portable conversion Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days. The latter added another hero, new skills and items, as well as overhauled combat system. On top of that, the upcoming Steam release is going to feature three playable characters that were previously unavailable in the western version of the original game: Dark Eclair, Gig, and Miabel.
