Grand Theft Auto 6 PC Port Might Be Just Months After Console Launch
The CEO of Corsair may have shared some GTA 6 news in an investor call. According to a quote, it could be as soon as early 2026, a change of pace for Rockstar.

Grand Theft Auto 6 might release on PC sooner than expected. Anyone who’s paying attention to video games over the last few years knows that the next GTA will be a huge moment. Much like the previous release, many expect the PC version of GTA 6 to arrive much later than the console versions. Grand Theft Auto 5 was released in September of 2013, and didn’t arrive on PC until April of 2015. But for fans of the series without access to a new generation console, the wait might not be as long this time around.
PC gamers might not have to wait too long for Grand Theft Auto 6
Reported by Dexerto, on a recent call with investors, Andy Paul, the CEO of PC components company Corsair spoke on the topic of GTA 6. A quote was originally spotted by author and Bloomberg writer Tae Kim and posted to social media. The quote was: “GTA 6 is probably the one everyone’s talking about and we’ll get a glimpse of that I think later on in the year for console. My understanding now it’s going to come out in the fall for console and then early 2026 for PC.” Of course, this is nothing concrete. Until Rockstar shares anything official, news like this should be treated as a rumor, not fact.
However, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently spoke on his interest in increasing share of the market that is reflected in PCs. GTA 5 might have taken a year and a half to make the jump to PC after it’s console launch, but other Rockstar games that have launched since then made the move quicker. Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on PC just one year after its console launch. If it only takes a few months for GTA 6 to launch on PC, that would be a continuation of that trend.
Of course, this all relies on several things. Least of which is that Rockstar is able to deliver GTA 6 in 2025 and not have any need to delay it until the following year. Also, releasing the PC version in early 2026 could be the plan now, but that could easily change. Perhaps too many players would simply decide to wait until the PC release if it was only a few months away? But do gamers have that kind of patience when it comes to Grand Theft Auto? Zelnick has stated his confidence in GTA 6 hitting its 2025 goal this fall, and that took the company’s stock to new heights. A delay could change many things.
