Disappointing Visual Comparison of FIFA 21 and FIFA 20 on PC

Interesting screenshots have appeared on the web, comparing the visuals of FIFA 20 and FIFA 21. It follows from them that this year's edition does not offer any significant graphic improvements.

Yesterday we wrote about the first reviews of FIFA 21. Most of them criticized too limited scope of changes compared to FIFA 20. It turns out that this also applies to graphics.

A ResetEra forum user known as IIStellaRII published a batch of screenshots, comparing the visuals of both games on PC. He tried to select them so that they show similar scenes and weather conditions. He claims that this year's installment looks clearly worse, but after a closer look we cannot agree with his assessment. FIFA 21 has more subdued colors, making it look less attractive at first glance, but the level of detail of models and textures seems to be identical.

Of course, the fact that the graphics do not look better than in FIFA 20 is a problem in itself. On PC, standards in this respect are growing every year. In combination with small changes in gameplay, many players may have doubts whether this year's installment is worth its price.

The lack of visual progress saddens, but unfortunately it is no surprise. FIFA 21, which will launch on PCs this week, is the same release as on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There's a very different version planned for November on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, but all the next-gen enhancements will not be available to PC players this year. Hopefully, FIFA 22 will be different.

Let's recall that the game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on October 9, this year. Releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be released along with their market debuts.
