Diablo Immortal Recorded Biggest Debut in Series History And It's No Surprise
The developers boast that Diablo Immortal turned out to be the biggest launch in the history of the series. The famous game breaks new records, but not all of them bring reasons to be proud.
- Free Diablo Immortal recorded the best launch in the history of the series, attracting over 10 million players.
- Blizzard's mobile game broke a few more, but less glorious, records.
We have come to a time when one of the most talked about launches of the year is a mobile game. Well, maybe not entirely, because Diablo Immortal can also be played on PC, but it's the version for smartphones and tablets that contributed to the impressive result, which Blizzard can boast of.
Diablo Immortal with the most players at launch in series history
Blizzard announced via Twitter that the mobile Diablo Immortal has become the biggest release in the history of the series, with the number of players who have installed the game has already exceeded 10 million.
Such a good result should not come as a surprise to anyone - Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play game available on iOS and Android mobile devices and PC, so it's not difficult to beat the results of previous games in the series, for which you had to pay.
This is not the only record that was broken by the game. Diablo Immortal beat the infamous Warcraft III: Reforged and became the lowest rated Blizzard game by users on Metacritic (at the moment it "boasts" user ratings of 0.5/10 on iOS and 0.2/10 for PC version).
Also, youtuber Josh Strife Hayes counted as many as 22 different currencies and materials in Diablo Immortal, which can be paid for directly or indirectly with real cash, and "maxing out" a character - as noted on the Bellular News channel - can cost over 100 thousand dollars.
