Activision Blizzard's Big IPs May be Coming to Xbox Game Pass
Microsoft has provided information on Activision Blizzard's games that will be eligible for Game Pass once the controversial deal is approved. Subscribers can look forward to several high-profile brands.
Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard is surrounded by controversy. The British government is concerned about competition in the market, while Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, says it's just a step toward making video games more accessible. What titles are involved? Game Pass may receive some of the most popular brands.
Of the two ways Microsoft is expanding its horizons, one is by bringing games into its Game Pass service. Spencer assures that with the corporate merger the subscription will gain in quality. This is because it will include popular titles from Activision Blizzard.
"Subscription services, such as Game Pass, make games more accessible and help gamers around the world find their next favorite title. Game Pass enables developers to make more games available to more players, not fewer. We intend to share Activision Blizzard's beloved library of games - including Overwatch, Diablo and Call of Duty - and expand these communities."
At the same time, Phil Spencer guarantees that the availability of these games in Game Pass will not affect their presence on other platforms. That was the thing Call of Duty fans playing on PlayStation consoles feared the most.
And although the words of the head of Xbox can already be taken as confirmation that the series will eventually appear in Game Pass, there is still a long way to go.. In the meantime, you can take a look at the games that are currently available through Game Pass - their full list can be found here.
