Update (October 8, 8:09 AM)
Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred expansion is finally here. Blizzard announced that the studio had a significant problem with launching it simultaneously on all platforms, but the situation - after a few hours of delay - has been brought under control. However, not everything works as it should. Adam Fletcher, responsible for communications with the community, pointed out that some players may have difficulty choosing the Spiritborn class (probably only on consoles). You can find a solution to this problem on Blizzard's forum, at least until the company fixes this bug globally.
Update (October 8, 1:00 AM)
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred suffered a slight delay. Community Manager, Adam Fletcher, informed on X that minor issues were detected. However, he hopes that they will be eliminated within a few hours. You can find more details in the Blizzard forum post.
Original message (October 7, 22:01 PM)
The anticipated Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred expansion will reach the players in just over 3 hours. Blizzard has scheduled the premiere for October 8 at 1:00 CET. On this occasion, we have gathered key information related to the first expansion of the fourth installment of this iconic series.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 - details
Among the new features that the DLC will introduce, the Spiritborn class and the Nahantu region stand out the most. Fans will also receive a fresh story centered around the character of Mephisto. However, if you decide not to purchase the expansion, you will also receive improved features – such as a changed difficulty level system or the option to max out characters at level 60.
In addition, further skills for classes will be introduced, including two additional character slots, a party search function, and mercenaries who will help in battles with demons.
Let's not forget that with the release of the expansion Diablo IV will also see the launch Season 6 – Season of Hatred Raising. As part of it, Sanctuary will see, among others, the dangerous Realmwalkers known from Diablo III, spewing out dangerous abominations. Importantly, from now on, players will be able to more easily obtain a mythical unique item - for example, for 2 sparks we will receive a random item of this type.
Prices and Reviews of Vessel of Hatred
The Vessel of Hatred expansion received a lot of very positive reviews from the critics. On Metacritic, the average rating for the title is currently 85/100 based on 34 reviews. DLC will hit PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Even though Diablo IV itself is included in the PC/Xbox Game Pass service, the DLC in question must be purchased separately.
On the aforementioned platforms you must pay:
- for standard edition - $39.99;
- for Deluxe edition – $59.99;
- for Ultimate edition - $99.99.
Interestingly, you don't have to complete the base game to start playing the expansion. You can go to Nahantu at the very beginning of your Diablo IV playthrough.
Let us add that both Diablo IV and Vessel of Hatred are to be supported by PlayStation 5 Pro technology. However, we still need to wait a bit to play this hack'n'slash on this device. The enhanced Sony console will be available from November 7th (pre-sale has been ongoing since September 30th).
