Diablo 4 Patch Buffs Realmwalkers and Mounts. Blizzard Confirmed More Balance Changes
Diablo 4 received patch 2.0.4, and it includes a strengthening of Realmwalkers, less fearful mounts, and a handful of fixes (and another crash). Adam Fletcher also confirmed balance changes midway through the Hatred Rising Season.
Blizzard Entertainment has released another update for Diablo 4. Version 2.0.4 is now available for download on PC and consoles - both for the base game and the Vessel of Hatred expansion.
The update significantly increases the maximum number of gem fragments in an inventory and adds VRR support on PS5, while Blizzard has also increased the amount of damage needed to force a dismount on a player, primarily in endgame. Players complained about the "timidity" of mounts in the face of a high density of mobs, so fans welcomed this change with open arms.
What was less exciting was the doubling of Realmwalkers' health and the possibility of another wave of Bloodbound Guardians appearing next to it. Some players are not happy with this - not even because it's too big a boost for the Realmwalkers. In their opinion, it simply won't make any difference as long as the Spiritborn is not nerfed, because it's this class that makes battles with theoretically powerful bosses last seconds (literally).
However, there is not much chance of this happening anytime soon: Blizzard asked the players for their opinion and the majority want to leave the new class as it is. Indeed, the survey result is not binding for the devs, but it clearly shows the mood of the players.
Nonetheless, Adam "PezRadar" Fletcher (community manager) confirmed that in the middle of the current season, Diablo 4 will receive a balance update. We will learn more about it during the next, smaller Blizzard broadcast (via X).
Errors and faults - removed and added
Version 2.0.4 also fixes a lot of bugs and glitches - both in the expansion and in the basic version of Diablo 4 (including a bug present since the release, which caused the icon for new items in the materials tab to be displayed all the time). You can find the full list of changes on the official company of Blizzard Entertainment.
Unfortunately, the patch caused problems for some players due to the forced shutdown of Diablo 4, mostly on PC, but a few experienced crashes on consoles as well. For now, the team has implemented a temporary workaround until the bug is fixed (via Adam Fletcher on X).
