Diablo 2: Resurrected Patch 2.4 Release Date and Ladder Launch
Blizzard representatives announced the dates for the official debut of update 2.4 and the start of the first ranked season in Diablo 2: Resurrected. The update will be released on April 14, and the event will take place on April 28.
Patch 2.4 for Diablo II: Resurrected has already visited the game's test servers twice. According to the original plans, its full version was to appear at the end of this month. However, this will not happen. As announcemed by a representative of Blizzard, it will debut only on April 14.
Patch 2.4 and delay
What can we expect from the upcoming update? A whole bunch of new features. We are talking about, among other things:
- Balance fixes (including some skill enhancements), synergies between perks, and bonuses guaranteed by wearing armor sets;
- New runic words and schematics for the Horadric Cube;
- Changes in game mechanics (after the patch you'll have to smash the Compelling Orb to enter the Durance of Hate instead of killing all the council members);
- Minor bug fixes.
Additional details can be foundhere.
So what is the reason for the delay? Well, in recent days the developers of Diablo II: Resurrected have encountered some problems which appeared during the development phase. In a nutshell, it's about troubles introducing the last batch of patches which didn't work properly. As a result, they had to be rolled back and refined. Fortunately, most of the bugs have now been located and fixed. All changes will be implemented during the approximately six-hour maintenance break, which is scheduled for March 29.
However, it will still be necessary to see how the fixes perform in action under load. Therefore, the update is not scheduled to be released until April 14.
Ladders
Two weeks later, on April 28, the first ranked season will launch in Diablo II: Resurrected. It will enable us to challenge ourselves in four types of ladders:
- Standard;
- Hardcore;
- Standard expansion;
- Hardcore expansion.
Each of them will require us to create a new character and collect as many experience points as possible within a certain amount of time. This will guarantee a spot on the leaderboards.
The break between the release of the patch and the start of the ladders should enable the developers to catch any additional problems and quickly eliminate them. This should guarantee the smoothest possibleexperience.
At the end of the communiqué, Blizzard's representative sincerely apologized for any delays and assured that Blizzard has other events and plans in store, which should appeal to the community. Everything should be revealed in the coming weeks.
