Diablo 2: Resurrected Bug May Block Access to Single Player Characters
Certain symbols and characters in character names in Diablo II: Resurrected can block access to said characters. No, this time it's not censorship.
Diablo II: Resurrected undoubtedly got off to a much better start than Blizzard's previous remaster. Of course, this does not mean that it was free of a bug or two in a few place. One of them blocks access to characters in single player mode. The source of the problem lies in... character names.
Problems were reported by several players who lost access to their characters after the last update. At first, the affected users assumed that the problem may be an excessive number of runes, but quickly identified the real cause. Turns out it was the use of symbols like "-", "_" etc in character names. It seems that Diablo II: Resurrected has a problem with names that contain several of these symbols.
Adam "PezRadar" Fletcher, who is responsible for Diablo community relations at Blizzard Entertainment, has already commented on the matter, although he didn't say much for now. He assured that the developers are investigating the matter and will share new information immediately if there is any progress. So there is a chance that the bug will be eliminated in the next update. Until then, PC players can try changing the names of their characters in single-player mode in the game files. The rest of us will have to be patient.
