Diablo 2: Resurrected Beta to be Improved; Characters Will be Retained For Now
According to Rod Fergusson, who worked on Diablo 2: Resurrected, there will be a patch with fixes before the actual open beta begins. Additionally, early access player characters will be preserved for the remainder of the game's testing.
The open beta for Diablo 2: Resurrected starts tomorrow and will run until August 23. Some players have been able to immerse themselves in the game's world since August 13, when the early access beta started. The feedback on this initial version of the game was not entirely positive: players complained about a large number of bugs and problems with the servers. This raised concerns about whether Blizzard would be able to patch the game in time for the September 23 release. Developer Rod Fergusson, who works on the new-old Diablo, calmed the mood in a post on Twitter.
Fergusson responded to a question from a user who wanted to know if the game will get any additional updates before the beta starts on Friday.
The developer's words can act as a calming influence to some extent, especially after a lot of complaining about the technical condition of early access. Players who had contact with Diablo last week will be happy to know that they won't have to create their characters from scratch. Will the open beta respond to the needs of players? We'll find out tomorrow.
