Diablo 2: Resurrected - 7 Changes Requested by Community; Devs Praise the Ideas

Some time ago, one of Diablo 2 fans, known on Reddit as Chrompower, distributed a poll concerning new features and changes the players would like to see in the upcoming remaster. Rod Fergusson, the producer of the Diablo series, liked the results.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Results of an unofficial poll on new features and changes the players would like to see in Diablo 2: Resurrected were published;
  2. Among other things, they would welcome the ability to sort through stacks of runes and gems, improved mercenary balance, and an in-game encyclopedia;
  3. The title will be released on September 23, this year.

Less than a month separates us from the release of Diablo 2: Resurrected, the refreshed version of the iconic 2000 hack'n'slash from Blizzard Entertainment and its expansion pack - Lord of Destruction. The new version will introduce a number of improvements compared to the original from over 21 years ago, not only in the graphics, but also in the gameplay. But what changes would the players themselves expect? This question was asked by one of the netizens from Reddit, by the handle Chrompower. To find an answer to it, he distributed a special survey. 8887 people took part in it, 98% of which were people who played Diablo II. Its results were published a few hours ago. Here they are:

So as you can see, most, because as many as 80% of those surveyed would like to see the ability to sort through stacks of runes and gems. 77% would welcome additional item information balloons that would tell us, for example, what minimum and maximum stat levels they can reach. On the other hand, 74% would like a slightly better balance for mercenaries to make them more useful. Many of those who took part in the survey also wouldn't mind an in-game encyclopedia of runes and what can be crafted with the Horadric Cube, an optional loot filter, minor spell tweaks, and more things you could do after completing the main quest.

Player wishes are one thing, but do they have a chance of coming true? It turns out that yes. The results of the survey were commented on Twitter by Rod Fergusson, who since last year supervises the development of the Diablo franchise. He stressed that for now, the people responsible for Diablo II: Resurrected are focused on the upcoming release, but the players have provided some good ideas. No declarations were made, but the message itself may give hope that sooner or later one or more of the aforementioned elements will appear in the game.

Diablo II: Resurrected will be released on September 23 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
