Project Diablo 2 Developers Launch 10th Season of the Revamped Version of One of the Best PC Games of All Time
The 10th season of Project Diablo 2, a constantly evolving modification that improves Blizzard Entertainment studio's iconic game, has launched.
The recently released Vessel of Hatred DLC for Diablo 4 turned out to be a big success. If you've already played this expansion and are still hungry for new experiences, it's worth dusting off Diablo II, as the tenth season of gameplay has just started as part of the major modification called Project Diablo 2.
The devs' goal was to thoroughly refresh the second part of the series and enrich it with new content. The project improves gameplay and balance, introduces additional skills, previously unknown enemies, and original dungeons designed with player parties in mind, as well as new boss battles. Additionally, a mapping system modeled on the one from Path of Exile was introduced, and the visuals were improved (among other things, allowing you to play at 60 fps and adding an HD minimap).
The mod is being developed as part of seasons. Each of them introduces new challenges and elements, and at the same time resets the entire server and player progress. The tenth season received the title Desecration. It brings a substantial set of new items and reworked dungeons, where the number of loot has been doubled.
The 10th season also introduces two additional maps designed for the endgame stage, and earlier locations have been refreshed and their balance has been improved. Improvements to the equipment interface have also been implemented.
In general, Project Diablo 2 it's great fun. If you've ever wondered what Diablo 2 would look like today if Blizzard continued to systematically develop this game with new seasons, this mod provides a pretty good answer to that question.
In conclusion, it should be emphasized that Project Diablo 2 only works with the original version of the game (costs 10 euros on Battle.net) and requires the Lord of Destruction expansion (also priced at 10 euros on Battle.net). The modification is not compatible with the remaster, i.e. Diablo II: Resurrected.
