Denuvo in Street Fighter 6 on Steam; Fans Unfazed
The Street Fighter 6 game has joined the ranks of games that use Denuvo anti-piracy protection. However, it seems that fans of the series don't mind.
Just before the release of Street Fighter 6 Capcom has decided on a surprising move. The publisher announced that the PC version of the game, more precisely - the one released on Steam - will use Denuvo anti-piracy protection.
Adding spice to the matter is the fact that, according to PCGamesN, citing data from SteamDB - this information was revealed only on May 30, so just before the release of the game in question, scheduled for June 2.
Although the matter may seem controversial, the discussions conducted by players on Steam (which you can find, among other things here and here) shows that fans of the series apparently remain unfazed.
- Many of them point out that Street Fighter 6 has fairly low system requirements anyway, so a possible increase in many cases will go unnoticed ..
- In addition, in their view, Denuvo can only be a problem for players obtaining games from illegal sources.
It is worth noting that Street Fighter 6 is not the only Capcom game released this year, that makes use of Denuvo. After all, the Japanese publisher uses it on a fairly large scale and has implemented it in such items as Resident Evil 4 and Monster Hunter Rise. Nevertheless, Capcom also tends to remove Denuvo from its game some time after their release; this was the case with Monster Hunter World or Resident Evil Village.
Street Fighter 6 will make its debut on June 2 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
