Deadlock - How to Check MMR Explained
Many Deadlock players would like to check their MMR. Can they do that?
Valve releases their games so rarely (especially after Steam success) that there is a great commotion around each of them. At the same time, we need to admit also that they put a lot of effort into them and they are warmly received. It seems that their newest creation, Deadlock, will be another victory to their portfolio. While the title is not out yet, and the access is restricted behind invitation, almost 100k people played it in its peak and the number is growing each day (via SteamDB). No wonder that with this number of players, people would like to know how the matchmaking works, and MMR alongside. It does not help that there is no access to your stats.
Deadlock – How to Check MMR Explained
MMR is an abbreviation from Matchmaking Rating. As you might have guessed, it is a way to rate your skills and determine which opponents you should face to have balanced gameplay. The problem is that Deadlock does not allow for players to see their MMR, which makes the game and its matchmaking a little bit confusing.
The game is in its Alpha stage and it is not even in open beta, so we may safely assume that Valve decided that there is no need for now to present MMR. It is also possible that they are polishing this feature as we speak with so many players providing data. We are rather certain that at some point players will be able to check their stats in-game.
Of course, Deadlock has MMR system, it seems that even a hero-based one is included. However, no one is sure how it works precisely. Moreover, with the influx of players, many fans report problems with algorithms. Probably it will take some time for it to stabilize.
