Dead Space Remake Size and Performance on Consoles
We learned what graphics modes will be offered by Dead Space Remake on consoles and how much disk space the PC version of the game will take up.
Just less than two weeks separate us from the release of the new Dead Space, the remake of the excellent 2008 sci-fi horror game. The developers thought it was high time to share additional information about the technical layer of the game.
Graphics modes in the console edition of Dead Space Remake
We learned that on consoles the game will offer two modes:
- Quality - 4K resolution (UHD, or 3840x2160) and ray tracing at 30 frames per second.
- Performance - 2K resolution (QHD, or 2560x1440) without ray tracing, but at 60 frames per second.
Glad to see that there will be an option to play at 60 fps. At the end of last year, this issue became quite a hot topic after it became clear that such an option would not be offered by Gotham Knights and A Plague Tale: Requiem. Many other developers (including creators of The Callisto Protocol and God of War: Ragnarok) were then quick to assure that their games would not lack such a mode.
The size of Dead Space Remake on PC
The developers also revealed final system requirements of the PC version. They are virtually identical to those given in October last year. The only new information is the amount of disk space needed. In order to play the new Dead Space on PC, you will have to set aside 50 GB of free space.
Recall that the refreshed Dead Space will be released on January 27, 2023. The game is coming for PC,Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
The production has already reached gone gold last month. This means the work has been completed and the release will not be delayed further (some games were exception to this rule).
Finally, it is worth mentioning that those who buy the remake in pre-order on Steam, will receive as a gift the full version of Dead Space 2.
