Dead Island 2 Will be Released on PS5 and Xbox Series X
According to the job offer for an art director at Dambuster Studios, the continuation of Dead Island can be expected to launch not only on current platforms, but also on next-gen consoles.
The long-awaited continuation of Dead Island is still in the works, and although it has only been officially announced for PC, Xbox and PlayStation 4, according to a job offer for an art director, Dead Island 2 will also be available on next generation consoles.
Work on the title has been going on since 2012 and many players have lost hope that Dead Island's sequel will ever see the light of day. Dambuster Studios is already the third studio to take up the challenge, but so far it doesn't look like they're going to give up - on the contrary, unlike their predecessors, they're also aiming for new technology.
The offer, which can be found on the official website of the studio, says:
"This is a fantastic opportunity for you to further your career by leading the art direction on a ground-breaking title for current and future platforms at a genuinely progressive and forward thinking studio. Do you have proven experience in leading world class art teams to deliver AAA console focused titles? If so, then we have your next challenge waiting…"
The text shows that the developers plan to release the game both on the current, officially announced platforms and on Xbox Series X and PS5. Is the bad streak of Dead Island 2 over and we will finally learn the release date? Let's hope so.
