Dead by Daylight Sets New Activity Record 5 Years After Launch
Dead by Daylight has set a new activity record on Steam, surpassing the threshold of 100k simultaneous players for the first time. That's a big feat considering the game is now over five years old.

A day two weeks ago marked five years from the release of Dead by Daylight, an asymmetrical horror multiplayer game. It's almost an eternity in this industry, but the game is doing better than ever.
Yesterday Dead by Daylight set a new activity record on Steam. At the hottest moment of the day 105,093 people played the game at the same time. The game's popularity has been growing for several months. In May, the highest daily results were 58.3% higher than in April, and in June an increase of 19.4% was recorded.
One of the reasons for these successes is quality new content. In the middle of last month, the Resident Evil Chapter DLC debuted. The expansion became the biggest bestseller of the week on Steam, and with it Dead by Daylight set a new activity record of 94,855 simultaneous players. Today we know that it was not the peak of the game's power.
The devs make sure to keep the players interested not only with expansions. Yesterday an event was launched to celebrate the fifth birthday of the game, which will last until July 15. During it fans can, among other things, win anniversary crowns in matches. If they manage to get to the end of the game, they will keep the ornament forever.
The creators have also prepared challenges for the whole community. Their completion will enable us to unlock additional charms and cosmetic items, including David King and Spectre outfits. In addition, throughout the event, the Shrine of Secrets runs on a daily rotation and includes the abilities of almost every character from Dead by Daylight.
Finally, Raccoon Police Department has returned to the maps in rotation. This level debuted in Resident Evil Chapter, but it turned out to be so riddled with bugs that the developers had to temporarily remove it from the game to fix technical problems.
