Dark Souls on Skateboard Goes Big on Internet
A video showing a mod bringing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 into the Dark Souls universe is making a career on Twitter.
We like crazy mods that combine elements of diametrically opposed games. We recently wrote about Call of Duty: Skyrim, and now we want to draw your attention to the crossover between Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 and the Dark Souls series.
Yesterday, Twitter saw a lot of buzz made by a post with a funny video in which Solaire of Astora, well known to fans of FromSoftware, goes crazy on a skateboard in Firelink Shrine from the first Dark Souls, accompanied by the song Superman by the band Goldfinger.
This video uses two mods simply named Firelink Shrine and Solaire (Dark Souls). These are not new projects - the first is from 2019, and the second was released two years ago. Now they've gotten a lot of spotlight, as someone combined them and uploaded gameplay footage to Twitter, where it has been viewed nearly 11 million times.
Recall that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 is a set containing remakes of the first two installments of the skateboarding series. The collection debuted in 2020 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and a year later was ported to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Superman by Goldfinger appeared on the soundtrack of the first part of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and since then the two creations have been inextricably linked in pop culture. This is best illustrated by the fact that a few months ago part of the song was sung by Tony Hawk himself at a concert of this band.
