Fan-made Dark Souls Sequel Got a Release Date and a New Trailer
The team of modders working on the fan-made sequel to Dark Souls is getting closer and closer to its completion. Their project, titled Dark Souls: Nightfall, has just received a release date.
- Another trailer has appeared online for the ambitious mod for Dark Souls: Remastered;
- The project called Dark Souls: Nightfall is a direct sequel to the series;
- The mod is scheduled for release on December 21.
The Dark Souls series is not associated with an exceptionally developed modding scene compared to such phenomena as, say, Bethesda games. However, this doesn't mean that it doesn't exist at all. For a long time amateur developers shared their own projects on the web, which to a greater or lesser extent changed the game. Among them there was also an announcement of the project under the title Dark Souls: Nightfall, an ambitious, fan-made sequel to the series.
Modification of such a scope required the constant involvement of seven creators, who from time to time were supported by new people. However, their work is clearly progressing in the right direction, as the mod's release date has just been revealed. According to the announcement, it will be available on December 21.
To run the mod you will need Dark Souls: Remastered. The creators revealed that they initially intended to release their project also in a version adapted to the older Prepare to Die Edition. Unfortunately, this version turned out to be too limited in technical terms. Currently, there is only one option left to see the vision of a sequel the creators of Nightfall had come up with.
