Dark and Darker Wipes Progress Again; Patch 2 Introduces Tasks [Update: Hotfix 21]
Dark and Darker still hasn't returned to Steam, but it has received another early access update with important changes.
UPDATE: The promised Hotfix 21 has been released, and as a result, the game and its servers are now working as expected. Ironmace made the traditional announcement on Dark and Darker's Discord.
After the success (and controversy) Ironmace has released its second major update for Dark and Darker as part of early access. Details of the previously announced patch were discussed in a post on the game's official website.
As with the previous update, the developers have wiped the servers and thus reset player progress (except for earned cosmetic items and blue shards). The patch includes minor fixes and two brand new mechanics.
- The quest system now enables us to undertake missions commissioned by merchants. For completing them we will receive "better rewards" and unlock access to more interesting items and blueprints.
- Adventure Titles is a system of ranks earned by going to High Roller Dungeon. Each "title" provides rewards at the end of the season, although for now only one has been revealed: a nightmare skeleton skin for the Pathfinder rank. More will be announced next week.
Besides, the developers have added two new attributes: vigor and agility (they increase the health and "speed of action" of the character, respectively). Work is also underway on the next hotfix, which is expected to include further improvements to matchmaking and starting equipment, as well as the friends list and changes to Adventure Points to be awarded more "fairly" to player teams.

Unfortunately, the developer had to "supplement" it with "serious bugs" introduced by the update, which are expected to be fixed in hotifx 21. The latter does not yet have a release date, but it has been assured that it will appear as soon as possible.
