Cyberpunk Fan Theory; Kerry Stole Johnny’s Body After His Death. You’ll Find Strong In-Game Clues Supporting This
Would you expect something like this from an old friend? Other players seem to be just as shocked.
The magic of Cyberpunk 2077 lies in the details, to which devs from Poland paid great attention. In fact, in every nook and cranny of Night City, we will come across numerous treats, starting from memes smuggled into the futuristic world to interesting facts from the lives of NPCs. This allows players to freely develop their own theories about what might have occurred prior to the beginning of the V story.
Some details will be heartwarming, while others will be gruesome. It's hard to determine which category the crime committed by Kerry falls into.
Nothing can be hidden in the papers
While exploring the city and carrying out gigs, the player can scan encountered NPCs and take a look at their files in the process. Not even V's close friends will hide from Kiroshi's watchful eye. Sometimes they committed minor offenses and at other times more serious crimes.
This way, we can learn that Kerry is currently wanted by the NCPD for, among other things, "illegal possession of human remains."
The concerned post attracted Reddit speculators, who see a plot sense in Kerry's behavior. According to their theory, it was a celebrity from Night City who stole the body of Johnny Silverhand - his former friend and co-member of the Samurai band.
So he was actually caught while digging for Johnnys corpse (...). But his body actually never was at the oil fields, Cyberpunk Red has some tidbit about it.

So that's where Johnny's body went, damn it Kerry. I had a Hallmark moment in the Oilfields with Johnny over what was supposed to be his grave but nope.

It's not necessarily Kerry's fault
As for the mystery of the missing body, Kerry isn't the only suspect. Commenters cite other theories about the fate of Silverhand's body, primarily mentioning sources other than Cyberpunk 2077. For instance, earlier books mention a woman named Angel, who was supposed to be "suspiciously similar to Alt." However, this would mean that Johnny's former lover escaped from the Net.
The previously quoted user Ikkaan42 also brings up Johnny's actual name (Robert John Lindner), which we might encounter while exploring the cemetery. In his opinion, it was Rogue who recovered her friend's body from the Los Alamos laboratory and then buried it in an appropriate place.
It's also worth bearing in mind that Kerry's record has been bugged for some time, showing random information about crimes committed. In this context, body theft doesn't seem to be the worst offense.
