Cyberpunk 2077 Temporarily Loses Useful Feature Due to The Witcher 3
Cyberpunk 2077 will pay for the release of the next-gen Witcher 3 release. Fortunately, CD Projekt's decision will be temporary and the loss will not be too severe.
The arrival of a next-gen (actually current-gen) update to The Witcher 3 will bring an unexpected side effect for fans of Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt has made a decision that today it will disable the function of sending and storing autosaves from this game in the cloud. Update to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will debut on December 14.
Reason for restriction
The concern on the part of the Polish developer is the possibility of temporary server overload due to the massive download volume of the update for The Witcher 3, which could consequently lead to complications and delays in the autosave storage function of CP2077 in the cloud. CD Projekt has not provided information on when this capability will be restored. However, it seems that due to the current decent reputation of Cyberpunk, the developers will not want to put players' patience to the test for too long.
Other possibilities
Naturally, the other options for saving the game state in Cyberpunk 2077 will still function. Players who usually use the cloud can therefore temporarily switch to other options. We would also like to remind that a DLC is already on the horizon for Cyberpunk, named Phantom Liberty. Its release will take place next year. As Idris Elba assures, the DLC is expected to offer "the deepest storyline in the history of video games."
