Is CDPR joking? Internet Users React to Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 Announcement
Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 hasn't officially appeared in the game yet, but it's already caused a big storm among the players.
Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 hasn't had its official release yet, and it's already become the subject of jokes and negative comments from the players. CD Projekt RED released some materials promoting the biggest changes that will be introduced in the upcoming update. Among other things, the operation of the police will be improved, as well as the sensitivity of vehicle controls. However, the announcement caused a lot of controversy and a wave of negative feedback from the players, e.g. on the subreddit dedicated to the game.
Below are a few comments from the users summarizing the situation. Some others are upset with the developers' attitude, others yet treated it as a reason to abandon the game, and a few commenters directly stated that CDPR is trolling its fans. In response, one of the internauts prepared a humorous summary of the last three months of developer "work". It was also pointed out that some of the bugs have long been fixed by the modders, and that the announced patches were supposed to fix most of the big issues with the game.
"Its absolutely hilarious how little this patch brings to the game. literally no patch in this game will ever receive praise by the community unless that patch literally remakes the whole game."
"What CDPR communicated to us with this patch is that they have absolutely no intentions to fix the real issues of the game. They will patch up some annoyances, give you workarunds, bugfixes, but we will get absolutely 0 missed features. Because then they would have to admit to false advertising."
"Apart from less frequent crashing (it still happens a lot even now) basically nothing is different from release. If cyberpunk was a huge festering wound what CDPR has done is the equivalent of slapping on a few small band aids."
The announcement of the update has also reflected on the average ratings on Steam. Currently, the game has 63% of positive reviews given in the last 30 days. Just three weeks ago, this value was at 69%. In addition, the day after the announcement of patch 1.2, as many as 166 negative reviews, compared to 186 positive opinions were posted. The release date of the update is still unknown, but it's hard to expect that it will reverse this downward trend. Additionally, it's unclear whether the patch won't share the fate of update 1.1, which caused many bugs.
