Fans Ask About Updates and DLCs for Cyberpunk 2077 After the Recent Dry Spell
Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 are looking anxiously at CD Projekt's lack of action. Players are counting down the days since the previous updates and impatiently waiting for new information.
Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 have reasons to complain. There is still a huge number of bugs in the game and it has still not been announced when exactly we can expect the first free DLC, so the players are getting more and more impatient. A Reddit user known as LnA_toB apparently is also worried by the lack of action and conducted an analysis of the release dates of previous updates. His calculations show that something strange is going on in the studio, because since update 1.23 - released on June 17 (54 days ago) - we did not get any new content. On the other hand, the last major batch of fixes was released 134 days ago - on March 29 with patch 1.2.
Moreover, LnA_toB claims that the previous patch fixed only 48 items, so it could have been released only to silence the players complaining about the lack of action from the developers. The user notes that there has never been such a long gap between updates as there is now. At the end of his post he adds that the game badly needs DLCs to keep the audience interested. And there's no sign of them on the horizon either.
This all sounds very worrying. Such long gaps between updates were certainly influenced by the February 2021 data leak. The question remains whether this is CD Projekt's only problem - perhaps the company is struggling with other serious issues that don't reach the public? In any case, the creators of Cyberpunk 2077 should really make an effort in the near future not to lose all the trust fans have bestowed upon them.
