CD Projekt Fixes Error in Report; Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Remains Main Priority

CD Projekt has fixed an error in its financial statements that suggested a small team was working on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. In fact, the project is currently a priority for the company.

In a recent financial report CD Projekt Group there was an interesting graphic showing how much of the staff was assigned to specific tasks. It turns out that after the publication of the document the company changed this element, significantly increasing the part allocated to the expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.

  1. In the original version graphics showed that the expansion for CP2077 is handled by about 17% of the staff. In the new document it is about 49%, so the change is very large.
  2. The updated version shows that the DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is by far the most important project that CD Projekt RED is currently working on - after the publication of the earlier graphic people concluded that the priority is given to other projects, including the next installment of the The Witcher.
  3. Comparing the two versions, the most likely explanation seems to be that the graphic designer who created them simply made a mistake, swapping the shares of CP2077 DLC and other projects.

On Reddit a player known as blamethemeta commented on the situation in a funny way:

"Even their presentations are full of errors."

One might even be tempted to say that CD Projekt applied patched their own document.

Apart from the humorous aspect of the situation, the change seems to be for the good. The original version of the image caused anxiety among fans. The delay of the DLC to 2023 and the small team working on it did not look good, so the information that the group working on this DLC is now the largest in the studio, should at least partially calm fears.

Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine for The Witcher 3 have set the bar high in terms of how CD Projekt RED's game expansions should look like, so we hope that the expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 will turn out to be equally successful.
