Cyberpunk 2077 - DLC and Multiplayer Mode Also Delayed
Adam Kicinski and Michal Nowakowski from CD Projekt informed during a recent investor call that the postponed release of Cyberpunk 2077 will also affect the release date of the planned multiplayer mode and expansions for the aforementioned game.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- DLC and multiplayer mode for CP2077 will be released later - just like the game;
- The game may receive "a bit more" additions than The Witcher 3.
Adam Kicinski and Michal Nowakowski - the CEO and board member of CD Projekt respectively - informed during the investor call that due to the postponement of Cyberpunk 2077's release, potential expansions and multiplayer mode for this game will be released later.
"The fact that the launch of CP77 has been moved will proportionately move the release of such potential expansions. We haven’t made any specific announcement on when that’s planned, but since these areactually being developed, these are not any pieces we keep in the drawer, so to speak. They will first have to be made.
When it comes to multiplayer, similarly to the expansions, its launch is going to be proportionatelydelayed as well, although multiplayer is a bit more distant – so it’s a matter for the future anyway," said Michal Nowakowski.
The conversation also touched on the topic of the number of expansions - although we will still have to wait for the specifics, the game may get more DLCs than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
"In terms of the number of expansions planned after CP, I would not assume anything until we’veactually announced that number – you will have to be a bit more patient; that piece of news is goingto come at some point, probably not too far from now, but this is part of our marketing campaign toreveal it at some point," said Nowakowski.
"The delay doesn’t change any plans regarding further content – maybe dates, butnot the number of planned expansions. And saying “expect not less” is a codeword for “you mightexpect a bit more"," added Kicinski.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on November 19, 2020 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will also be available next-gen platforms. On June 25, the a Night City Wire show will be hosted, during which we will most likely see another gameplay from the upcoming game. Soon afterwards, the first impressions of the journalists, who are already playing the early version of the game, should appear on the web.
