One of the studio's veterans has left the ranks of CD Projekt RED. We're talking about Mateusz Kanik, who's been working for the Polish company for the last 15 years. He joined back in 2006 and took part in the works on the first part of The Witcher. At that time, Kanik served as Game Designer.
Over time, he became one of the key members of the team and took on the position of Lead Gameplay Designer while working on Assassins of Kings. After finishing work on The Witcher 2 he became the Game Director for Cyberpunk 2077. For a little over two years he led the development of the newest RPG of the Polish studio. Later, he also held other roles, such as Design Director and Principal Designer.
Kanik has left CD Projekt RED, but for now he hasn't joined any other company. The developer's profile on LinkedIn reads that he is currently a freelancer. A post on Twitter reveals that he's experimenting with the Unity engine. The effects of his work after only five weeks of study can be found on YouTube. We must admit that they look quite promising.
