Cryptominers Got GeForce RTX 3060, Despite Launch Scheduled for February 25

Nvidia is planning to release the GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB cards in late February, and cryptominers are already bragging about having them. Expect some serious availability issues.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. The launch of GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB cards is expected to take place on February 25;
  2. Cryptominers are already bragging about their freshly bought models from Gigabyte.

According to the leaks, the launch of GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB GPUs will take place later this month. However, many already indicate that gamers may have serious problems with buying the new hardware on the day of its release. Why?

As reported by Wccftech, Nvidia plans to launch RTX 3060 12 GB cards on February 25. The suggested retail price has been set at $329, although in stores prices are likely to be higher due to the current market situation. The price of better custom cards, will clearly exceed the MSRP, regardless of availability.

However, there is a great danger that we will be unable to buy any card at all. Already now, several days before the planned sale, there are information from cryptominers who brag on Reddit about their purchase of Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Eagle OC 12 GB cards, asking about the potential performance in mining. Interestingly, this time we are not dealing with a Chinese citizen, but someone who bought the card in Europe. According to preliminary calculations, the chipset may have a processing power of 50 MH/s.
